In Mexico, anti-dumping duties on passenger car and light truck tires from China

On October 1, 2024, Mexico directly imposed anti-dumping duties on passenger car and light truck tires from China, with the highest tax rate reaching 32.24%.

The tires subject to anti-dumping duties are new radial pneumatic tires for cars and light trucks, with a nominal inner diameter of 13 to 22 inches.

The anti-dumping investigation against Chinese tires began on November 30, 2022, and the Brazilian subsidiary of the world's leading tire company and the Brazilian National Rubber Industry Association (CNIH) submitted an investigation application.

The investigation yielded a result this year - it was determined that anti-dumping duties would be imposed.

In the list published by the Mexican investigation agency, most Chinese tire manufacturers were required to pay an anti-dumping duty rate of 14.82%. However, there are still some tire companies whose anti-dumping duty rates vary. Among them, Zhengdao Tire was levied the lowest tax rate of 5.18%; products manufactured by Changfeng, Haohua and Linglong were required to pay anti-dumping duties of 7.16%, 11.55% and 19.37% respectively; the anti-dumping duty rates of Zhaoqing Junhong, Hankook Tire Chongqing Factory and other manufacturer exporters that did not appear in this lawsuit were as high as 32.24%.
